Home cultivation
All herbs grown by us are annual or perennial garden plants that need special growing conditions, which fact should be taken into consideration in their cultivation. We recommend therefore that you plant the potted herbs you purchase out in your garden thus developing your own little kitchen garden.
If you do not have a garden, only a narrow driveway, small porch or balcony, you can start your picturesque and fragrant herb garden by planting herbs in containers.
In planting different types of herbs together, choose containers that harmonize with the environment. Place a layer of pebbles in the bottom to encourage seepage. Keep in mind the different growing potentials of the various herbs planted together.
If you do not have an outdoor surface, but would like to enjoy the delicate taste of fresh herbs nevertheless, you can also keep potted herbs in your windows. It is important to know, however, that a window sill is not the most ideal place for a garden plant. Therefore you are advised to buy just as much quantity as you can consume in a couple of days or, at most, a week.
In summer, a bright eastern or western window, in winter, a southern window is the ideal place for your potted herbs. Be careful not to overwater.
The most successful indoor herbs include lemon balm, thyme, mint, chives, parsley, rosemary, rucola and sage.
